On March 26th, the first 325,000DWT VLOC of the series built by Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding was successfully launched. This project is financed by Bank of Communications Leasing and KUKJE Maritime Investment Corporation (KMARIN) of Korea will be responsible for ship management and operation.

More difficulty in construction compared to 400,000DWT VLOC
The first 325000DWT VLOC has large size and is difficult to build. During the preliminary period, just in time for Spring Festival, in view of limited construction period and shortage of labor force, Production Department made a specific plan according to the integrity objectivity and the actual production situation on site and organized a special meeting every day to follow up and report. Although Yangzi Xinfu has already had the experience to built 400,000DWT VLOC, more difficulty in construction as far as structural design and technological requirements are concerned.
KR Standard requirements for shipbuilding technology
The ship’s site team members are all experienced Korean experts, who supervise the ship strictly in accordance with Korean shipbuilding standards and techniques and brough up more than 600 NCRs. The shafting adopts self-boring and the bearing is mounted in a manner other than an integral liner, which requires for longer construction period and higher precision. The maximum ballast tank is 15,500 cubic meters, painting workload is huge and the cleaning work is difficult.
Launching integrity reaches the expected goal
Although the planned construction period is 81 days, the actual construction days are only 65 days under the influence by shortage of labor force around the Spring Festival. Each departments of Yangzi Xinfu worked together to overcome the difficulties finally achieving the set target with the integrity of the ship pre-launching reaching 92.6% and NCR closed by 85%.
