“MSC ILARI” The fifth 16,000TEU container vessel built for SEASPAN was delivered and left the shipyard

On the morning of 20 March, MSC ILARIA,the fifth 16,000TEU container vessel built for SEASPAN and MSC by Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding was delivered and left the shipyard, and put into operation for the MSC fleet.

 

The vessel has an overall length of about 366.0 meters, the length between the perpendiculars is 355.4 meters, the moulded breadth is 51 meters, the moulded depth is 30.2 meters, the design draft is 14.5 meters, the scantling draft is 17.0 meters, and the speed is 22 knots. The vessel started built in February 2023, keel laying in August 2023, and launching in mid-December of the same year. It was successfully completed with the joint efforts of SEASPAN, MSC site office supervision team, DNV, and shipyard employees. The vessel is the fifth in a series of nine vessels of the same type.

 

On 20th February, our group held a naming and blessing ceremony for the new vessel together with the shipowner SEASPAN and the charterer MSC. The naming ceremony was attended by Mr. Qiao Yaxi, Mr. Yang Xueyan, Vice General Manager of the Group and General Manager of Yangzi Xinfu, Mr. Liu Yinjun, Vice General Manager of Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding, and Mr. Yang Haitao, Manager of the Site Office of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) in Yangzi Xinfu, as well as other leaders and guests. Qiao Yaxi named the new vessel "MSC ILARIA", cut the cable and threw the champagne salute for the new vessel, pulled the whistle, and signed the name on the new vessel's picture frame with the captain, wishing the crew with the vessel a safe voyage and bringing honor and prosperity for the shipowner and charterer.

 

On 18th March, Su Xiaohua, Project Manager of Asset Management Department of SEASPAN, Yang Haitao, Manager of Site Office of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) in Yangzi Xinfu, and Yang Xueyan, Vice General Manager of the Group and General Manager of Yangzi Xinfu, signed the delivery documents of MSC ILARIA on behalf of all parties respectively. Jianxin Gold Leasing Ship Business Department, SEASPAN, MSC Project Supervision and Construction Team, our business Department and other relevant personnel witnessed the delivery ceremony.
