Ten 4600TEU container ships of Zhonggu Logistics started construction

As Mr. Xia Guoqing, Vice President of Zhonggu Shipping Group, pressed the ignition start button at 11: 18 a.m. of May 10th, 10 4600TEU container ships of Zhonggu Logistics undertaken by our group started construction smoothly at Processing Workshop of NYZ.

Designed by SDARI, the ship has a total length of about 228 meters, a width of 40 meters and a depth of 19.6 meters. The designed speed is 15 knots. The maximum nominal container capacity is 4614TEU and 360 refer container sockets loaded. It is equipped with Marine through shaft permanent magnet synchronous generator, HVAF and PSV, adopting frequency conversion energy-saving technology on sea water pumps and engine room fan with the advantages of high efficiency, large capacity and low fuel consumption etc. In terms of technological advancement and environmental friendliness, it is fully ahead of the current similar ship types. The series of vessels will mainly serve the north-south line along the domestic coast and are expected to be delivered between 2022 and 2023.

This batch of 4600TEU container ships is the largest and latest coastal container ship in China's near-sea area tailored by SDARI, under the general requirements of "domestic and international double cycle" strategy put forward by the state last year, and under the background of China's policy of vigorously promoting the adjustment of transportation structure, comprehensively promoting "scattered-collection" and multi-modal transport. As an important cooperation project between CCS and Zhonggu Logistics in the field of new shipbuilding, these ships will be classified with CCS. At the same time, this batch of new shipbuilding is also supported by Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, ICBC Financial Leasing and other financial institutions.
